There are two (2) different workshops being offered. Please read carefully to choose the appropriately session(s):

1. Google Forms 2016:  CLICK HERE for details and to REGISTER

Eligible for Open Choice if "Google Forms & Flubaroo" was not counted in 2015-16.

  • - During this one (1) hour PD you will learn how to:
    - Create your own Google form.
    - Differentiate between, and create, different questions types, insert images, videos, etc.
    - Change the “look” of your form.
    - Determine who can respond to your form and how to collect usernames/email addresses automatically.
    - Send out/Share your Form to be completed.
    - See who has responded to your Form and view the responses in Forms and Sheets.

    • *PREREQUISITE: None.

    2. Flubaroo Add-On: CLICK HERE for details and to REGISTER

 

Eligible for Open Choice if "Google Forms & Flubaroo" was not counted in 2015-16.

  • - During this half- hour (0.5 hr) PD you will learn how to use the Add-On "Flubaroo" to grade student quizzes that were created in Google Forms.
  • *PREREQUISITE: Knowledge of creating Google Forms, such as completing "Google Forms 2016" training.

Focus: Creating a teacher/class web site using the new "Google Sites". "Google Sites" has been completed upgraded and we will be training on the new and improved version! If you decided to check it out ahead of time, be sure that you are looking at the new version since it is VERY different.

NOTE: This is not for school or district web site creation such as school websites.

Screencastify and Padlet are ways to capture what your students are thinking. Screencastify is a chrome extension which allows your students to capture their thinking. Padlet is a way to jumpstart a lesson, brainstorm or show what your students are thinking.

Standard 3.2: Quality of Questions, Delivery Techniques & Discussion

Description: The skillful educator designs questions that are appropriate to the content and constructed to be cognitively challenging. Questions are delivered in a manner that engages students in discussions, during which students demonstrate their understanding while respecting all voices and ideas. By participating in carefully structured questioning activities themselves, participants will leave this two-hour session with an understanding of how to develop and deliver questions in such a way that all students will be cognitively engaged, ready to answer, and participate in authentic discussions.
Participants will:
• Connect their practice to the Evaluation Rubric
• Identify characteristics of effective questioning
• Evaluate the Quality of Questions
• Recognize and be prepared to implement various Delivery Techniques

In this workshop teachers, teacher assistants, and anyone that works with or plans to work with preschool students will learn what is mandated by the state to run a high quality preschool classrooms. These mandates are not just for state funded preschool rooms. This is the practice of all preschool rooms in Pawtucket. After taking this PD you will understand what will take place if your classroom is chosen to be evaluated by BrightStars. All preschool classrooms in Pawtucket will be up for a BrightStar evaluation next year. If you have a preschool classroom already please bring in your schedule and pictures of your centers. If not, some will be provided as a guide.
